FIDYAH
Fidyah is a payment made by individuals who are unable to fast during Ramadan due to extreme weakness from old age or illness. Instead of fasting, they must provide two meals to those in need for each day of Ramadan. This payment ensures that those unable to fast can still fulfill their religious obligations.
Eligibility
You are only eligible to give Fidyah if you are unable to fast due to illness and cannot make up the missed fasts later. If you experience a temporary sickness during Ramadan, you should make up the missed fasts at a later time.
At Al-Ansari Foundation, we suggest a donation of £5 per day for Fidyah, which covers the cost of two high-quality meals. This totals to £150 for the entire month of Ramadan.
